Wonderful place to stay for our 10 year anniversary. Great staff that answered all of our questions and upgraded our room for our anniversary without extra charge. Awesome historical building with modern amenities yet still having its eclectic charm.

The customer service at check in was perfect. The room was beautiful, could use some coffee in the rooms for the coffee pots. Parking was a little tight but easy to get out with no issues

I have nothing to say for this hotel, except for just amazing! It has clean, big rooms, coffee and wine service, gentle staffs etc. I’m a Japanese, so honestly, whenever I stayed at hotels in North America, I felt like they’d be too pricy to just stay without any meals😩 (Don’t make me wrong… It doesn’t mean I’m a racist or prejudicial but unfortunately, JPY is really weak especially now.) But this hotel? Needless to say, it was worth🙆‍♂️ And the coffee was magnificent☕️ I took more than 6 cups for 3 days🤣 A receptionist told me the owner would roast it by him/herself😲 If I’ll go to Portland again, I will definitely stay this hotel. If my friend ask me, I will definitely “force” them to stay this hotel. Thank you for such a great moment! Happy holidays🎄

The hotel/room was extremely clean. It had old world charm with a modern twist. I treated my granddaughter to a night in Portland for her 17th birthday. The hotel provided a pleasant stay.

It was superb As soon as you walk. We felt like queens the room was big and they upgraded us. We got the bookworm deal which you get a great package. 50$ gift card to Powells Book Store a Powells coffee cup also a block away from the Book store. Or a block away from the Crystal ball room, buffalo exchange, and a dank shake place. It was perfect for our girls trip.

The Mark Spencer Hotel feels European - it's stylish and full of character. Our room was huge, beautifully decorated, and incredibly comfortable. Everything was spotless, and the beds were some of the most comfortable we’ve ever slept in. We loved the complimentary wine hour on the rooftop with a live musician, which made our stay even more special. The location couldn’t be better, right near Powell’s Books and surrounded by great restaurants within walking distance. There’s even an open parking lot that worked perfectly for our travel van. We felt very safe and the area is lovely. Every room includes a refrigerator & the kitchenette added convenience to our stay. It’s very affordable for everything it offers. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend The Mark Spencer Hotel.

I’ve had some poor experiences staying in downtown Portland before, but this hotel was a pleasant surprise. At first, I was a little worried about the long check-in line, but the staff handled it exceptionally well, professional, polite, and courteous throughout. Parking with the hotel is optional, but I highly recommend it. Everything is within walking distance, restaurants, shops, and the stadium (we were in town for a soccer game). The facility itself is clean, modern, and well maintained. Overall, a great stay, we’ll definitely be coming back!

Never stayed in a hotel in Portland before so I honestly did not know what to expect. My buddy was the one who booked this place so I assumed he did his research and got something good. And he definitely did. This hotel is conveniently located close to a lot of things like Powell's, Washington Park, restaurants and the like. It is in an excellent location. The workers are all very cordial and would greet us coming in and out of the lobby and one was even kind enough to get me hot water for tea when I asked for some. The rooms themselves are quite clean. Ours had two beds and a pullout couch which was very comfortable. The bathroom was also very clean and offered a body wash, shampoo and conditioner. They even had a kitchenette in the room with a microwave and stove and everything, we did not end up using any of it but it was nice to know all of that was in there in case we needed it!
